Greetings from inside. Virtual solo show by Egle Norkute at IRGI GALERIJA.
The exhibition will be available online from 3rd till 27th of November and it is recommended to access it via computer instead of mobile device.
Artisanally rendered images become a kind of anti-ready-made objects. When creating
these moulages embodied in materials that belong to the painting medium, artist considers
issues of authorship, originality and status of an artwork. “My paintings are savored in mimicry disputing the classical aesthetic of art as imitation. I use visual tricks, infantile imitations of reality and illogical visual junctions, by which I aim to comment on the questionable significance of representation painting has in the present day”.
